THE LIVE-IN-CAREGIVER COURSE

The course includes the following kinds of training-:

A] Child care- all age groups
B] Old age care
C] first-aid
D] Personal support training   

  • The institute has been running a live-in caregiver course of 6 months duration which trains them in child care and old age care and support.
  • They are given rigorous theory sessions for 6 months.  During their 6 months course, these students go for fieldwork 2 times. Once they are sent to interact with children of various ages for duration of 1 month to get hands on experience.
  • Due to our liaisons with THE INDIAN COUNCIL OF CHILD WELFARE, CHANDIGARH which is a government run organization; this practical training is given to them in the form of fieldwork in the various crèches run by the Chandigarh administration. They are also awarded certificates by the ICCW.
  • We are greatly indebted to grant our students this opportunity for them to interact with children of all age groups.
  •  The other field work they under go is a first aid training program through THE INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY   for a period of one  week. The training is a very interesting program and the students are awarded certificate after an examination conducted by the ST. JHON’S AMBULANCE, INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY, PUNJAB. 
  • The students also undergo a rigorous training program at the IVY HOSPITAL,MOHALI for patient care

While at CIVC was doing my nanny course I worked part time as a librarian, this on campus job helped me a lot to complete my course. Up the CIVC flag now I am living happily in Australia with my spouse.
